There are few things I love more in photography than a smiling sitter session like this one from Carter. He is seriously the happiest baby I have ever been around. If you don’t remember this cute mug, he was the baby that laughed through his entire 4 month photo session. What a joy he is to have in the studio. He warmed up to me in no time, and we had a long conversation back and forth complete with lots of “baba” (which is his new favorite word). Those beautiful blue eyes and that smile could melt any heart! I can’t believe we only have 1 more session left in his baby plan. I will miss seeing him every few months in the studio. He was the first baby to use my new Cora & Violet “Kade” outfit which I am now in LOVE with. I can’t wait to see him again here in a few months.
Time moves by so fast, and now Kelsey is 2 years old! I remember doing her newborn photos, and it certainly doesn’t seem like that was two years ago! Now, she is running and twirling all over the place. We met one morning last week at Arbor Hills Nature Preserve, so she could play to her heart’s content. She is such a happy little girl. It is always nice to see the babies I have photographed as they grow into toddlers. Luckily for us, we found some beautiful flowers that Kelsey really wanted to smell. They entertained her for a bit so I could get some candid photos of her near them.
We did some classic newborn photos for baby Amelia last week. Her big sister and brother even joined in for a few, so Mama can put them on her walls. It was so much fun watching these sweet kids interact together. I can tell they are all going to be really close as they get older. I LOVE when I get to use blues and mints with little girls. They always look good with any skin tone. These newborn shorts from Cosette Studio are new, and I just HAD to use them. With their sweet lace detail, they were perfect for Miss Amelia.
There is something special about wrapped infant photos. The babies look so little and adorable when they are wrapped really tight. I find that wrapping a newborn also calms them if they are having time falling asleep at a session. Cyril was a little fussy at the beginning of his session, but as soon as I wrapped him up nice and snuggly he settled down. The rest of the session went smoothly, and he was a joy to photograph. Can we all just admire this flokati rug from Luneberry? Their rugs are just so soft and fluffy. I love the texture it gives in photos. I use them with every newborn session I have – at LEAST once.
I can’t believe we just took photos of Hudson 8 months old. Where has the time since his 4 month photos gone?! He looked totally adorable in this cute bear bonnet from Whippoorwill Nest as well! We ended the session in one of my favorite little Mia Joy Studio rompers for boys. It even has a little vest that was the cutest thing on Hudson. Also, I always have to get an eyelashes shot of Hudson because he has the most gorgeous lashes I have ever seen on a boy. They are so long and beautiful. I am totally jealous. I can’t wait to see this little man again in just a few months for his 1 year photo session!
